PAIN MANAGEMENT - Medical CannabisWhat I have achieved with HSCT in the Pirogov Hospital in Moscow with the great Dr F. is to halt the disease.
Unfortunately such is the nature of MS the damage caused to the myelin covering my nerves is still the damage done. While I can get my body fitter and stronger with a good diet and excercise regimen. While I still walk with a cane I have managed to increase my 'range' and one stress test I do pretty regular is from the North West MS Therapy Centre to Sligo station a trip of 1.8km I can manage in less than 20 mins. Of course I do get to rest for the hour trip back to Longford which allows me to recover. This is a MASSIVE improvement and we continue to try and improve that further. |

The first thing Dr.F said to me when I returned to Moscow for a follow up MRI and appointment 20 months post transplant was, "you still have PPMS but there was absolutely no evidence of ANY new activity and there was definitively NO new lesions!!" HURRAH!!!
Stopped the unstoppable....
In reality it means... that after I 'overdo it' walking I still experience a lot of pain in my lower legs and feet. Over the years I have always reacted badly to pharmaceuticals and so practically ever since my MS induced pain started I have used Cannabis to alleviate. The pain is a result of spasticity in muscles and particularly my achilles tendon. The law that CRIMINALISES ME for treating myself with then BEST solution that I have found and even had prescribed for me by a doctor in Barcelona is yet another bad law. Fact is just a 2 hour flight away in Barcelona where my company Ferdian Events still owns and delivers events like Barcelona's Comedy Festival, I can legally to grow my own cannabis or buy whatever product from vapes to edibles with the concentration of THC that I require to combine with the level of CBD that works for my best outcome.
The law in Ireland is a bad law and I have decided to bring my experience of the industry and my voice to the table in an attempt to educate people and become an activist to see this law changed. Cannabis IS first a plant but also a MEDICINE that has been used by every culture on the planet for almost 6000 years. If you don't see it like that then your opposition creates a barrier that places you on the wrong side of history.
I will continue to use my medicine as I have once again found the means to self medicate for what my own bodies needs.
I was always been a 'recreational smoker' but since PPMS put a 'halt to my gallop' I had a bloody good reason to educate myself and understand WHY and HOW this magical plant cannabis was proving so effective for me and can be so helpful for fellow MS sufferers and what I know now to be one of the most effective treatments for so many diseases.
I intend turning this site into a place where people can find GOOD RESEARCHED INFORMATION on the treatment of MS by HSCT which has definitively kept me out of a wheelchair despite my doctors advice but also how once again through my own medical advocacy I continue to make my life better by breaking a most ABSURD LAW and using Cannabis!

So in 2020, in what has become already that most famous of nightmare years from Lockdown I got busy with a range of courses from The University Of Colorado a state with practically the same demographics of Ireland in terms of population, GDP, etc and one of an ever increasing number of states in the US to embrace the industry and remove barriers to research and development.
From Thailand to Uruguay countries around the planet are embracing what is a revolution in health as the stigma associated with the illegality surrounding one of Nature's most precious gifts is removed from statute books.
Ireland has a great possibility to not just play its part but to be a leader in shaping this industry.
For my part I will be doing my best to educate as many people as possible and point them in the direction of the best most accessible advice while we fight to get this law changed!.
